Aspiration filter for mill dome

In this project, we collaborated with a customer in the grain and feedstuffs industry who wanted us to install a filter on their mill dome to filter out fine dust particles.

The challenge

Grain and feedstuffs generate very fine dust particles during processing. And due to their organic and carbonaceous nature, this material is potentially explosive. This means that the customer had to comply with the ATEX Directive (which covers equipment and protective systems intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres).

The value

We selected the SimPact 4T-R filter in construction form 03 and Wide Body (WB). This configuration is the designation for an extra large filter housing, which reduces upstream velocity between the bags so the filter can filter out fine dust particles.

The filter is also pressure-shock resistant to ensure that the complete mill unit can be pressure-relieved according to the ATEX Directive.
